I am definitely someone who values family, faith, and friends. I surround myself with nothing but positive. I strive for what I actually want and need in my life because I do not like to waste my time, I mean we do only have one life to live. My dreams and goals are not only my encouragement, but my values as well. I want to make a difference in this world and inspire people that they have the potential to do the same. Whether it is succeeding into a career, creating a family of my own, or being a genuine person, sky’s the limit. I want to help save lives one day, either mentally, physically, and emotionally. A nurse practitioner or even a motivational speaker would be just fine with me.
I have never taken any type of Asian American history classes until my second semester in college. I never really heard or was informed about any Asian American History before maybe because people nowadays do not value their origins or don’t bother reviewing the past which actually influenced who we are today.
I belong to many communities such as a church or a parish, a young community growing into adulthood in college, and also my neighborhood community. My grandmother and grandfather are the number one people who have shaped and influenced my understanding of my personal history. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be aware of anything that had to do with my culture. I thank them because I am totally in touch with my Filipino roots.
