An Army Reservist looking to better their writing abilities.
My name is Ashlea and I am a 28 year old Army Reservist. Let’s look into some of the strengths that I have when it comes to writing, shall we? First of all, I am capable of using any resource available to do research on a topic. The Internet has been and always will be my best friend, and sometimes that is unfortunate. I love to use any kind of old Newspaper Article, Magazine Articles, and pretty much any General Article pertaining to my topic of choice. When it comes to helping other people with their research, I am a great deal of help.
Come on with me and read up on my weaknesses as a writer. I loathe writing reflective papers, self-reflective papers are by far the worst. I do not know who to put my life into context. Generally, I have a hard time staying on topic, I am not very well with the topic being picked out for me. The last thing that is difficult for me to do, is take and heed advice from others (even if they are helping me). I am not a fan of people telling me that I am wrong or that I have messed up, I take it to heart and personally.
Let me tell you about some things that I am willing to do, in order to improve upon my writing abilities. First, I will learn to be more open about the idea of writing a paper on myself. More often than not; when people read about my life, they take pity on me. I do not like that. Next, I will keep reminding myself to stay on topic and focus on what was discussed in class. I will not shift focus onto a separate topic that lies within the topic at hand. The last thing I will try to do, is be more accepting of people trying to help me. I must learn that they are helping me, and not scolding me.
Any perspective change that I make in my writing career will only help me, and they include: learning to use resources outside of English to help me. I will use my conversations with other people, to include the bad ones. Then, I...
