Facebook: Beneficial or Catastrophic? Why has Facebook had such a successful takeoff? Well we can answer this question by looking at several aspects of the world we live in today. I will answer this question by using parts of the barrel model. From the barrel model I will use ideas/values, social aspects, and techology. These characteristics of the barrel model are probably the easiest to utilize for this question. Lets first think about the sources from which we get our ideas and values from. Probably the the number one place we get our ideas and values from is technology, especially the internet because it is every where and we rely on computers too much. Another source is people we physically interact with. Expanding communication and mixing cultures can be a good thig but can also be a devastating thing. For the Native Americans this was true when the English came over, they were wiped out. Now we will focus on the effects of technology. Increase in...
