Affirmative Action

In this paper I will discuss the differences regarding strengths and weaknesses of the equality and affirmative action. Affirmative action is a way of making amends for, or eradicating, discrimination based on race, ethnicity, and gender. There are terms such as strong affirmative action which just in general gives people the equality they have been waiting for when it comes to education and employment. Such compensations are given to minorities like blacks and women who have suffered in the past times (ex.slavery, women suffrage). Being an African American myself I would have to agree with the affirmative action ordeal because I believe that blacks and women should be granted the homage to them as for all the suffer they have been through.
I believe in affirmative action to its full extent because it gives us blacks the chance to not be seen as inferior people. Blacks have always been in a state of struggle since as early as the 1400’s and still as of today they feel that they are trapped in a world of hate and violence as they have learned. Although I would have abided by agreeing with the weak affirmative action term because it would eliminate discrimination as a whole and give the opportunity for everyone to be treated equally no matter your race, gender, or background. If I had just agreed with that statement then I wouldn’t be making the point strong enough and therefore it would be invalid. Yes, I do believe that discrimination should be wiped out all in one but I still believe even when using this method, people like minorities would still be getting discriminated upon on based on their race more than likely and then gender. On an honesty level I think that black people have seriously lost hope in trying to be better than the white person or feel more educated. You can always look at how unequal kids have it during their middle and high school year’s educational wise. They are always put in facilities that don’t have qualified teachers to teach them and...
