Amazon strives to satisfy its customers. Through the elements of fulfillment centers, Amazon Prime, and AmazonFresh, Amazon’s dedicated approach to the consumer market is bound to make the idea of same-day delivery a reality. With a combination of innovative technology and slight manual labor, Amazon delivers high speed service for an amazing price. As a result, customers are satisfied and have a high rate of return.
During a recent interview with Fast Company Magazine, founder and CEO Jeff Bezos described his vision for the future of Amazon. “His main motivation is not to make money selling phones, but to encourage customers to buy even more stuff - from books and DVDs, to nappies and pet food - from Amazon” (Neate, 2014, para. 21). Although the company is currently a leader in the consumer market, Bezos’ vision includes making Amazon faster than ever before. In addition, Bezos plans to keep prices as affordable as possible to ensure customers are getting the best price available. The ultimate goal is to offer same day delivery while maintaining the competitive advantage.
Since its launch in 1994, Amazon has risen to be the largest online retailer. Amazon is also the world’s most trusting company. According to McCorvey (2013), “consumers voted it so in a recent Harris Poll, usurping the spot formerly held by Apple” (para. 3). Consumers view security as a major concern with online shopping and want to ensure their information will be safe. By ensuring secure ordering and shipping processes, Bezos and Amazon make online shopping seamless and worry free.
