 How the incentive to produce for workers and/or firms may be affected by this event? Taxes would go up for the working class to compensate the nonworking class. If the nonworking class was just laid off, they could apply for unemployment benefits to accommodate income until they find employment. The term should have a limit, because it can be utilized as a handicap instead of helping ensure the person would seek employment again. In both working and nonworking, I feel that benefits are still a must. Workers should be compensated in benefits for having a job, and the nonworking should be allowed benefits for a time period until they can get back on their feet.
How efficiency and equity for worker and/or firms are affected by this event? Workers would always be in demand because jobs have to be filled in order to produce and provide to the public. The downside is that some jobs require specific training. If you possess the training then you have chance of getting hired versus if you lack training.
The government passes a law allowing states to pay unlimited unemployment benefits to all unemployed workers for an unlimited amount of time. There is a need if the law is passed. Many times people go through hardships and need a little help to get to the next step in life. When these types of laws are passed, it normally affects the working class. I feel that the government needs a balance when laws like these are passed. This will keep everyone winning and on the same page instead making a difference.
The federal government increases the restriction on the immigration of skilled workers. If the restrictions are increased, then immigrants should have an opportunity to get in a class and learn specific skill sets to help them receive a good paying job.
