Every group has several different aspects to how they all work together and how they cannot overstep each other’s boundaries when suggesting new ideas. Every group has different task roles that each group member plays, specific norms in each group, and how we can improve the group before the first speech.
There is several task roles as well as maintenance roles played in our group: the 703. Joey is the elaborator because whenever someone brings forth an idea he expands the ideas and considers how to incorporate into our speech. Joey is also an initiator-contributor. He has several excellent ideas on how we should enhance the speech to make it better. Michael is the information seeker. He asks several questions and wants ideas and suggestions from the group to have several choices instead of just one to choose from. Brandon is the supporter-encourager because he says “Good job! “ or “That’s a good idea” to boost the group which makes us to be more productive and get the job done. He also is an information seeker because he asks for the facts and says, “How we can make this possible”. Kristen is a coordinator-director because she ties everything together in the end and she leads the group to one topic to another topic. She also is the clarifier because she clarifies an issue in which nobody understands or to further explain the idea. In my opinion Kristen is the gatekeeper because she knows when to move on to the next topic or when we should further discuss an idea. As well she wants to incorporate everybody’s idea in the group and aspire that everybody would talk in the group. In my opinion there are no disruptive roles because we all respect one another and we make sure that no body tries to control the group or withdraw themselves from the group.
In our group we have implicit norms then explicit norms. One of our implicit norms is always be on time because we all are really busy and whenever we have held our group...
