Ancient China

“In this great future you can’t forget your past”- Bob Marley. The past is considered yesterday, last week, or last year, but rarely as humans do we think about what happened thousands of years ago to create the civilization we live in today. As I read about the many developing civilizations in history, and play the game Civilization, I realize that methods and ways of life haven’t majorly changed; they have only evolved to become more complex things. There are three civilizations that I choose to explore for the game. My first choice was China, and then I became interested in Asia and Egypt. Throughout the game I will try to become an expert in my civilizations, so that they will over power everyone else’s. In this paper I will provide a short description of what I have learned so far about each civilization, why I became interested in them and how I will benefit from developing each civilization. In history, we haven’t started to learn about China; however I will have to build my civilization using my own judgment. When we start to learn about the culture and what made China strong and weak I will began to make my civilization a powerful force with the information I’ve learned. Mesopotamia also known as West Asia was organized and advance above other civilizations of 3500 B.C.E. East Asia was developing in agriculture, architecture and engineering. They began to develop writing and a distinguishable political system whichallowed for many advances within their civilization. Dams and canals were just one of the many ways people within East Asia received food and water. Their trading system became remarkable, by building boats that traveled on roads and water ways. By doing this they carried goods and sold them to make money. Egypt wasn’t as advanced as East Asia however they had growth in trading, politics and agriculture.
