Ancient Egypt was one of the most popular known places. In this essay I will be addressing these main categories: geography, religion. Of course you can’t forget their social class structure. Ancient Egypt was a model to many other Ancient Civilizations. As you read this you may find that we still do some of the things that they used back in that era.

Ancient Egypt is known home to the Nile River. The Nile River is what kept the ancient Egyptians needs supplied. It gave them drinking water, a place to bathe as well as a well source of food. It was also home to the Nile Delta, this is where a low triangular area of alluvial deposits where a river divides before entering a larger body of water. Known as the cradle of civilization, the Mediterranean Sea was opened as a highway for commerce by merchants trading from Phoenicia.

When it came to the Egyptian religion they believed that the Pharaoh was god. The pharaohs claimed god like powers, most important the power to make the Nile rise. These people were polytheistic this means that they believed in more than one god. When you think about the mummification of people was a part of their religion they would take out the organs and wrap the person in wool or other materials. The person would be buried in pyramids with many if their belongings because the Egyptians believed in after life.

The Egyptian social class structure included many things. When it comes to Egypt’s social class structure Vizier was on top then the high priests and nobles then priest, engineers and doctors then the scribes then the artisans and the peasants and slaves were at the very bottom. Everyone played an important role in the Egyptian social class structure. For instance the scribes would go to school to learn how to write on papyrus which is paper using hieroglyphics. Priests would shave their heads bald as a sign of cleanliness since they were working in holy places. Without the peasants and slaves not much of the hard labor...
