1. During the presidency of Andrew Jackson there were four major events that had happened. The first major event to happen was the passing of a bill that declared the removal of all Indians to preservations in what is now known as Oklahoma. The United States had acquired approximately 100 million acres of land from the Indians believing that removing the Indians from their land was for their own safety, when the United States only wanted the land for agricultural reasons. The second major event was the attempt of South Carolina to secede from the Union. The third major event was to rid blacks of their freedom to vote, he accomplished this by only letting people who had $250 worth of property vote. The last major event that had happened was the vetoing of the second national bank which had ultimately gotten rid of the national banking system. The reason why President Jackson had gotten rid of the national banking system was that he believed the banks held too much influence over the government policy and the economy; he had also disliked paper money.
2. The election of 1824 and 1828 was when the Democratic - Republican Party had diverged to become their own individual parties. John Quincy Adams worked with Henry Clay in order to develop the National Republics. While the opposing side was Jackson and his Democratic party. To this day these two parties are the major parties and it is a relatively good system. In my opinion I do not like their being two separate parties because when all of the branches are equal between Republican and Democratic there is not a lot that gets done.
3. When the Americans won the war of 1812 it not only beat Britain for a second time, but it had also showed that America is a Dominant nation in the world. During the time frame of 1815 through 1840 the United States had started to become less dependent on international trade and started to develop their own goods.
