Try and imagine this; You come home from a hard day’s work to your beautiful family and home. You, your spouse and you children eat dinner, have a family game night and then the two of you proceed to lovingly tuck your precious children into bed. Now you and your spouse are laying in bed, almost about to fall asleep, when suddenly, there is the sound of breaking glass. INTRUDERS! They are thrashing your home and stealing the things that you and your spouse have worked so hard for. There could be several intruders, even worse, they could have weapons. The time it takes police to respond to your 911 call may be a little too late. Your family is in danger and you have no way to protect yourself. This is one of the many horrifying situations that gun control, enforced by the government, could possibly subject your family to. Our second amendment rights, our safety and the safety of the public is what is at stake if gun control were to be put into place in the United States. There are several, very logical reasons of why gun control is one of the worst ideas imaginable.
In the United States last year, 2013, the number of robberies that took place within the home was 59,889. If you do the math, that is 7 home invasions every hour. So basically, every 9 minutes, a criminal broke into a home when someone was there. Imagine your whole family, one of your teenagers home alone, or possibly an elderly parent being put in a situation like that with absolutely no form of protection. At best, you could bring a knife to a gun fight. Taking a person’s right to bear arms away, or making it even tougher for law abiding citizens to purchase a fire arm, is a frightening thought. Anyone with any common sense understands that criminals do not follow the law. They are going to be armed, if they so choose, no matter what law is put into place.
