The demand for 24 hours gyms is represented in the growth of both Anytime Fitness and Jetts Fitness. Business Review Weekly (2013) listed both companies in second and third position of the fastest growing franchises of 2013.
This case study is in answer to the question ‘Which 24 hour gym in Australia has the best business model, Anytime Fitness, or Jetts Fitness?’ Through my research I have determined that Anytime Fitness has the better business model.
An analysis of both business models showed many similarities in the services they provide however the difference between the two companies was identified in the support and technology that Anytime Fitness gives its members and franchisees.

Anytime Fitness (2014) offers cutting edge strength and cardio equipment, high tech personal safety devices with emergency duress button, state of the art security and surveillance systems. They also provide an online program called Anytime Health that gives all members access to a diet tracker, workout planner, activity planer and virtual coaching, a trending service not offered by Jetts Fitness.
Further information presented in the Anytime Fitness At A Glance (2013) shows that Anytime Fitness also positions itself as a fantastic opportunity to potential franchisee owners. It prides itself on giving potential partners the opportunity to join the world’s largest health chain with over 2000 clubs globally, 344 of which are in Australia. Their business model is a low cost franchise with low overheads. It’s core essentials focus means all gyms are kept to the same standard and it states that its main competitive advantage come from its integrated use of software, security, and surveillance systems which allow franchise owners to operate safe and secure clubs with greatly reduced staffing needs.
