Many people wonder if they were born in the right time. People think “if I lived 50 or 100 years ago maybe my life would have been better.” People compare how life was 100 years ago to the year 2014. There are many pros and cons to each time period. However if people were to look at the two times closely it wouldn’t be extremely hard to figure out that life is better in 2014 than it would have been in 1914.
One reason why it would be better to live in the 21st century instead of the 20th century is because of the fighting that took place early in the 20th century. If a person were to live early in the 1900’s they would have been born right in the middle of WW1. Of course there are wars going on in the world in the 21st century, and technology has made it possible for a war that seems far away brought right into the middle of America with a terrorist attack, but WW1 brought a total of 16 million deaths in five years according to ww1facts.com. In the 14 years in the 21th century the total number of deaths in wars, or revolts, or terrorist attacks, was about 700,000 according to necrometrics.com. This is one reason why life is better now than it was 100 hundred years ago.
Another reason why life is better in the 21st century than in the 20th century is that technology has made many things capable that no one would have thought possible in the early 20th century. People would never have thought of the computer, cell phones, or even TV and radio. It would definitely be more exciting living in the 21st century rather than early 19th century because there would be more entertainment. However kids from back in the early 19th century had less sophisticated methods of having fun and they never would crave the latest edition of something new.
