“ARE YOU COMMITTED?”
Scripture: Luke 1 : 5-17 and Luke 1 : 39-41
Isaiah 40 : 3

There was a baby, that was filled with the Holy Ghost in his mothers womb ... It was prophesied in Isaiah 40:3 that there would be : “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ”Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight”.
That baby was John the Baptist .. He was called before he was even born, he was predestined to do the work of God. He was called to be a Predecessor - (a person who appears in advance to announce the coming of something or someone) -
a Herald - (a royal or official messenger) ….
But this John the Baptist did not look like royalty … He came out of the wilderness…. Wearing ‘Camels hair’ and ‘a leathern gridle‘… he was not eating like royalty ... he ate ‘Locusts and Wild Honey‘…
John the Baptist knew his mission in life - He knew he was sent to be the forerunner of Jesus..
He clearly understood that he had been sent by God - There was never a question of what John had to do…
By the mighty hand of God, John challenged the people to repent and turn from their sins and be baptized in water.
His main sermon was “REPENT, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”
Even though John had no influence in the Jewish political system, he still delivered his message with authority. His mission was to point people to Christ.
John did not lack boldness as he preached the message of repentance…”Repent Ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”
He did not compromise his message. John’s greatest strength was his focused and faithful commitment to the call of God.
What is your commitment to God? Are you focused and faithful to God?
Or are you just wondering about and doing things in a when I get time sort of way?
John knew he had been given a specific job to do and he set out with all obedience to fulfill that mission.
We all have a mission. Not just the preachers. Not just...
