When you search the internet for happiness you get articles about what can make you happy and how to achieve happiness. Happiness is defined as something easily achievable or an easy fix, it is normally associated with money or fortune. Happiness isn't one thing, and we normally try to find an easy way out or something that will make us happy for the moment but it isn't a long line of satisfaction. We try to compare ourselves to people who perceive to be happy and successful -- they think the key to happiness is to have everything in place and laid out. Happiness isn't an object to receive , it is an emotion you feel.
Happiness is defined, by wikipedia, as a mental or emotional state of well-being characterized by positive or pleasant emotion ranging from contentment to intense joy. It is what you feel within yourself at that moment, wether you feel you have truly done something worth your time . For me happiness means being confident in yourself, actions, and having support of those around you. "Happiness is not something ready made, it comes from your own actions" -- Dalia Lama. The steps you take to accomplish something, how you feel when you have a significant other, the things you do all play apart in your happiness. You take what you've done and feel confident about it, feel content and overjoyed. It is a true accomplishment to have happiness in your life, because it is not something many people feel.
Some people settle for an idea of happiness or something that once was. They feel like everything has gone wrong that nothing could be worse. You need to have a million sad moments to have a second of happiness, but in time the sad moments will fade like tears in the rain. Some people replace the things that make them happy with things that hurt them because they are scared. There are other emotion confused as happiness such as enthusiasm , hope and self-worth.
