Prescription Drug Abuse
There is a major epidemic in the US today with prescription drugs being abused. There are many reasons to why a person, adult or teen may abuse a prescription drug. Some of these reasons are not explainable because we don’t exactly drive people to abuse them.
Falling into peer pressure by friends, family and others is an explainable reason to why people go through what they do to abuse the drugs. Usually they start with one and then they are introduced to more or a completely different type of drug and it pushes them further into an abuse and addiction. After taking just one pill from a vile of drugs prescribed your body has already been introduced to it, but following the instructions and taking one every some odd hours will not lead you into a trap of being addicted. But abusing the drug and taking more than prescribed is when you become an abuser of the pill. Most drugs are stolen so there are more cases of the drug not being prescribed to the certain person that is abusing it. There are few stories of the person abusing the drug that they were prescribed to take for a medical reason.
Like said beforehand, after taking one drug your body has already become addicted to it, but if taken it twice and sometime mixing it with others is where it becomes a more serious problem to handle. Taking one drug and mixing it with another drug is not the safest to do because the side effects of each can compete with each other. But when someone is high they don’t really know what they are mixing and it can cause serious damage to their body. On the label of the vile of drugs it says “don’t take with so and so drug because it can cause damage.” Most people do mix drugs not knowing what it can do to them because they are either too high to know what is going on or because they just don’t care.
