Accountability and Army Values

Accountability is essential to the army to keep up and maintain where personnel are and if everything is ok with them. The U.S. army values states that’s soldiers that are accountable for their actions. Being accountable means being dependable and arriving to work and appointments on time, meeting deadlines, being in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing at the right time. Morning formation is the most important formation of the day that the first sergeant or commander put out. It is made to get accountability of everyone and put out any information that there needs to taken care of that day or coming up in a day, week, or month. Without having accountability there is no telling where the soldier is, what's going on, or even if the soldier is ok. As a result of me showing up late and not calling in I could possibly have a pending uniform code for military justice action under article 15. I now know the severity accountability and I have realized that is an important asset to always show up on time at the right place of duty. Not only does accountability matter in formation it is also important to have accountability of all your weapons and sensitive items. All in all accountability is a key role of a NCO and should not be taken lightly, they are the sole people that are responsible for the soldier’s wellbeing and know how. Also the NCO is not only responsible for where the soldier is supposed to be and the time that the soldier is supposed to be there, they are also responsible for any action the soldier does. Being on time and accounted for is all covered by the seven army values: Loyalty, Duty, Honor, Respect, Selfless Service, Integrity, and Personal Courage. In this essay I will talk about the key values that lead to accountability which are Duty, Integrity, Selfless Service, and Respect. First we will start with loyalty.
