South Dallas Cultural Center

My three choices were Kettle Art, Afterimage Gallery, and South Dallas Cultural Center. It was a rigorous decision but I decided to try out the South Dallas Cultural Center. I always said I would go check out the gallery with my mother, but we never got a chance to go. This was the perfect opportunity to go check out the gallery with my mother. Kettle Art and the Afterimage Gallery were very tempting, but my mind was made up. Kettle Art had a great website with lots of different types of art. It almost made me change my chose to Kettle Art. Afterimage Gallery had a really nice background. It was an all-metal eagle on the top of a building. It looked like something off of a Batman movie.
When I arrived at the South Dallas Cultural Center I walked into the New Image and Old Conversation Gallery by Frank Frazier. Mr. Frazier happened to be in the building and I got a chance to talk to him.
The painting I like didn’t have a name. It was a black and white painting of a black women with no face and a huge afro. I like the painting because of the big Afro. I had an Afro when I was younger and I’ve always liked the hairstyle. I think that’s why I liked the painting so much. Mr. Frazier said the painting was identifying being black person. The gallery was very interesting and was a great experience. I’m looking forward to going to more galleries and checking out different types of art.
