Assessment Analysis Project
In using the AUDIT process many things were brought forth in a different light for the client that she never even considered until the interview was done. During the interview it was explained that many questions were going to be asked that may be a little personal as well as may touch soft spots but it was just a interview to test out the AUDIT tool and to see how effective and affective t could be for her to possibly implement a change in her daily life to life activities.
In talking with the young lady in the beginning she was very uncomfortable and it was noticeably by the way she shifted aide to side and kept rubbing her hands together a well as the slight perspiration that was visible on her forehead and within her hands. As time went on her guard was let down and a rapport was built so she was able to become more comfortable with the questions that were asked and she was able to express in detail when asked particular things.
This assessment became useful when doctors used them to screen patients then was later passed along to different industries, human services being one of them for social workers to use as a tool to access when dealing with a client that was considered to be abusing some sort of substance to get a clearer view of how they could be of services for the client and their treatment plan. In using the AUDIT tool many things can be discussed that could potentially be recommended for a treatment plan for the client to become successful in trying to recover from substance abuse.
The young lady that was interviewed revealed that she became alcohol dependent when she lost her unborn child and became homeless, because her parents kicked her out when they found out she was pregnant. She was still in high school, had no job, and she and the young man were no longer an item which would then would have made her a prodigy of a single parent.
