What you wish to achieve during your year at the MBA. -To achieve a much better 'understanding' of management and skills required to be a successful manager and to gain them. -To learn to be a better team player and leader. -To be able to use my experience of working in the IT industry in the best possible way. -To understand the mistakes i may have made in my career so far and take steps to not repeat them. -To reflect on myself. -To make friends who can bring on their experience to help me, can teach me and can review me critically -To learn the fundamentals of finance, accounting and business. Goal Main goal To gain necessary skills to make an effective career change to the finance industry and to get a job paying a salary that is reflective of my value and the amount of work I do. Sub goals --To achieve work life balance --Financial independence --To gain respect in the financial world and at family life Reality Until I left my previous company, I was working close to 10 hours a day with intense pressures and responsibilities. The remunerations were not reflective of the work I did. Roadblocks --The biggest one is my skill set. Being from the IT background and work experience in the IT management, access to the finance industry is restricted. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate my finance capability to 5. --Achieving a work life balance. Ineffective time management results in a perpetual need of time for the job at hand, being at the workplace or at family. --Inability to fully assess myself and my potential. Options Gain knowledge and expertise in Finance. Better time management.
