Perfect sound and pitch isn't a gift that many people acquire. However, it can be, all it takes is a small purchase of software, which is called Auto-Tune. Auto-Tune has revolutionized the way people make and listen to music. Music in the past has been natural and simple. However, When the technological push happened in music, Auto-Tune shocked the music industry and is used more then ever. Auto-Tune has impacted Popular music not only by changing someones vocals, But impacted the music community with ever changing opinions. Before, this can be explained the history of Auto-Tune must be shown.

Auto-Tune was created by Andy Hildebrand in 1997. Andy Hildebrand has his Phd in electrical engineering. He brought his knowledge and experience that he has gained through school and previous jobs and created something that shocked the music industry. Hildebrand didn't think much of it when he created it. He told CNN “I'll put that setting in the software. But I didn't think anyone in their right mind would ever use it.”(Hildebrand). On the surface of this software it seems simple because, all it takes is a click of a button and it can enhances vocal performances drastically. However, When developing this software, Hildebrand used complex mathematical formulas and intense programing to help singers alter pitch to the nearest semitone. Also this software can be used to cover up off key inaccuracies. Hildebrand developed Auto Tune to enhance the music experience and hide potential flaws in vocal hiccups. However, he was not expecting the large amount of kickback and criticism that came with the invention that in some peoples minds thinks it is destroying music.
