Being by Kevin Brooks
When it all comes down, do you know who you really are? Whats your made of? You probably think you do. But what would you do, if you realized that your not made of blood, bones and flesh?
That's what happened to sixteen-year-old Robert...
Robert lies anaethetized during a routine procedure when something goes wrong.. Suddenly he is starting to hear voices;
- What a hell is that?
- That, Mr. Ryan is the inside of this boy.
The operation isn´t over.
When he manage to open his eyes, he realizes that he's no longer in the hospital- he's in a basement.
There are large guards standing around him, watching everything and he can see that they've guns in their holsters. Robert looks beside him at a screen; spirals, metal and some kind of black fluent. Could that be inside of him? No, of course it couldn't!
He's just an ordinary boy except that he's never met his real parents. Strong range and confusion is crawling inside of Robert and before anyone could react he’d taken one of the guards guns and pointed it towards Mr. Ryan. A young nurse named Kamal had to anaethetize all people in the room and then sew Roberts belly together again. Before anyone had woken up, Robert was gone. He’d fled to a train-station where he took a train to nowhere.
The only person he could think of was Eddi, she was the only one who would understand.
Robert knew that, even though they only met once. Eddi is a criminal who makes fake
i-d’s. She lived in London so he had to get there, but that could wait until tomorrow.
When Robert got there he decided not to tell Eddi, he wanted her to see for herself so they got in the car and started driving towards Roberts hometown and the hospital where this story started.
They didn’t even get out of the car at the hospital before one of the guards cought them.
Then there’s a long chapter about how they killed the guard by mistake so now when they were hunted murderers they had to flee the country to Eddi´s...
