Ben Stein’s Documentary Summary
In the movie Ben Stein’s Documentary, the author wants to try and encourage his audience of people to not be afraid to speak on how they felt. He wanted people to speak out if they believed the intelligent designed the creationism to be correct. He wanted Creationism to be taught in the public school system. Ben Stein wanted to try and set a proving for his premise. He did this by interviewing scientist. These scientists were rejected by the establishment.
We did not think that it was fair for the scientist to be rejected because they believed in intelligent design. It’s not fair to be disciplined for something just because there is no believe it. There is such thing called Evolution. There are many Christians that accept evolution. Evolution can be seen today. If one believes in evolution, you should believe in logic and reason. People who believe in rubbish embrace evolution and fear this greatly.
Freedom of speech should be taught in the class rooms. Stein’s interviewing with the scientists messed up their qualifying skills, by the establishment. The scientists wanted to invoke god and also divine intervention as little as possible. The absurdity of this movie however is that Stein focuses on a very narrow area of academic intolerance when there are far more egregious examples of political correctness and outright oppression using state sponsored dogma. Stein never discussed areas of academic censorship. He simply wanted to make the little people believe that intelligent design is a viable hypothesis because he wanted to make sure that the masses maintain their religious faith.
