It is also to be worn with all class c uniforms. The beret is a very noticable symbol that you are part of the 82nd or any airborne unit because of its maroon color. There are many places you can not wear the beret also the. the beret is not authorized to be worn in the field environment. There is no reason stated but i would guess bc it is easily recognizable and because it is easy to get dirty, and also because it can easily be taken off of your head and provides to real shading of any sort. The beret is dryclean only and will be serviced in such a way to keep it in good clean shape. The beret is to be worn with the uniform when in garrison when outdoors. The beret is not to be worn indoors. It is optional to wear you beret while operating a vehicle. This is one of the few options you get to have with the wearing of your beret.
