Summer of 05’

What if there was a way to travel back in time. Where would you decide to go and why?
If I had the choice I know exactly what time and event I would chose. Imagine you are thirteen years of age. You’re away at summer camp for the next two weeks of your life. Mind you this is your first time ever being away from your parents. You might think you will become homesick; however you have too much fun to think much of home.
It was June 2005 and it was a very hot summer that year.
I’m in the Saginaw airport; that is in Michigan if you did not know. The airport is tiny, only two terminals. I’m every kind of emotion possible, mostly excited mind you. Since my church is somewhat spread out through the states and some international countries they decided to make a camp for its youth several years back. Knowing that I’m not extremely nervous for I know several people already. Automatically I start looking around for familiar faces to spot my child hood friend Cassie Frits. In that instance we locked eyes and started running and giggling like young girls do.
A large bus is charting everyone to North Woods Camp. Its midnight now and I’m sort of confused looking around me, its cold. I hear people tossing back words to and fro saying things like “hey is that my bag you have there?” or camp counselors desperately trying to corral their dorm of campers they have never met. Suddenly I hear from what I guess was my counselor “is there a Rebecca Boleyn present?” Instinctively I look up. Before me stands a pleasant young women who’s features are delicate and dainty, her hair from what I can make in the poor light is dark blonde, and if I see correctly it seems she has a few freckles. Smiling she takes my bags and we head down a path to what I can assume is the girl’s dorms. Taking a step in to the cabin was surreal because it looked just like in the movies.
