Common Characteristics of Buddhism and Other Eastern Religions
The common characteristics of Buddhism that is shared with other Eastern Religions?
1. (Buddhism and Hinduism). Buddhism at its beginnings is at the least a spinoff of Hinduism. Hinduism also known as the (Sanatan Dharma) to Hindus is said to be the oldest religion known to mankind dating as far back as (5000 BC), or more. Buddhism started at a much later time around (563 BC). Buddha himself was brought up in the ways of the Hindus, and it was not until Buddha gained enlightenment that he started to preach whatever he learned from his life’s experiences that his teachings became known as Buddhism, and the people received very well. In that time in the later half of the Vedic Era when Hinduism was on the verge of being dissolved because of the unorthodoxy, superstitions, and staunch practices, being taught in the Hindus religion, that was when Buddhism with his way of teachings had less complexities, and rituals, this made it easier to be accepted by the people of India.
2. The similarities between (Buddhism and Hinduism) are both religions believed in reincarnation. Buddhism believes you are reincarnated according to the works you do in your present life. In Hinduism they also believe everyone is part of an impersonal world, and believes that your soul then can be reincarnated after death in another body of any being according to your deeds in your present life.
3. (Buddhism and Hinduism) both believe in salvation. Buddhism teaches that you have to work for your own salvation that way you cannot accuses anyone if you do not attain it, your salvation comes from works, and good deeds. Hinduism also teaches that you attain salvation through your own fate, and deeds. Hinduism teaches that you have four paths...
