Bilingualism and Its Porposes

Language is one of the many forms that bring people together. Weather we speak the same or different languages, language is one thing common about each and every race or ethnic group.
Bilingual education means any use of two languages in school- by teachers or students or both- for variety of social and pedagogical purposes according to the NABE (Nation Association for Bilingual Education). “But in the US bilingual education refers to the approach in the classroom that uses the native language of English language learners (ELLs) for instruction, NAME.” Some of the goals are to teach English, foster academic achievement, preserve a minority group’s linguistic and cultural heritage and also to enable English speakers to learn a second language just to name a few.
Bilingualism in education is a great transition compared to the pass because according to the Center for applied linguistics, bilingualism in education is a good movement because bilingual persons are able to communicate with people who speak different languages hence understanding their culture too, not only that but educators, policy makers and parents in many countries think this a great movement. This center believes that there are more advantages to students learning two or more languages than those that one know their main language.
According to the Bilingual School of Mona bilingual student are more creative and flexible thinkers, greater problem-solvers and analysis, increase in academic achievement and are easer to learn a third or fourth language just to name a few.

As with everything else in life bilingualism in politics have different reactions, according to the political betting not all American voters will prefer to have a president or candidate who is bilingual because think English is the only important language being that most average Americans are not bilingual.
