If you were a slave, treated unequally, not given respect, or even kicked to the ground, would you be ok? I know I wouldn't. This is what Brille, Nelson Mandela, Booker T. Washington, and Marguerite had to face when fighting for their freedom and others freedom. But they did not give up. They pushed guards, political figures, and even secretaries to the edge to get the freedom and respect they deserved. First off, Brille was a political prisoner that lived in South Africa. He struggled in jail with a group call Span One. They never got anyone to listen to them until Hannetijie came along. Hannetijie was very harsh to Brille and the rest of Span One at first. But after Brille realized that Hannetijie acted just as his children did, he got control and Brille and Hannetijie made an agreement. I think that if you put your mind to it or you catch someone stealing fertilizer, then you can do anything you put your mind to. Secondly, Nelson Mandela, he is an intelligent hero. He showed that even being on your own you can make a difference in the world. Nelson Mandela stood up to guards and political figures. He had to show that Blacks can be professional and that the are human beings as well as whites. He convinced political figures that blacks are not meant to be treated like dirt and if you treat them with no respect they will not treat you with respect. I was amazed that someone could start off so low in society then end up being president of South Africa and he did it all by himself! He’s a true inspiration to everyone. Next, Marguerite was an African American woman that was trying to find a job in America while all the men were away at war. She struggled with not being able to get jobs that she was applying for because everyone was scared of "a black woman having to manage white woman". Yet, she never gave up on herself because she knew in the back of her mind that she could prove the white community wrong. To me, I think she fought mostly...
