Credits:
• Set in 2019 the “city of angels” Los Angeles ironic because it is so un angelic, filthy
• Brief intro about replicants, the word replicants is written in red to contrast against the black background and the other white words
• Scott has given us this info so we have a quick background knowledge
• Other ways it could have been done are by narration
Eye on the city:
• Establishing shot showing a city lit only by neon lights and flames exploding into the sky
• Space craft comes shooting towards the camera showing us that this movie is futuristic and Sci-fi

• Music is eerie and synthesised
• Overall impression of the city so far is that it is dirty, artificially lit, scary and dangerous

• The scene progresses with unease and you hear Leon’s heart beat as Holden asks more questions, when the topic of his mother comes up Leon lashes out and shoots Mr Holden
• We do not expect to see the scene end this way and it sets the audience up for a violent movie
Street scene, interrupted sushi:
• The shot then cuts to another establishing shot of the city except this time there is a large screen on the side of a building with an Asian woman displayed wearing very traditional Chinese clothes and makeup, contrast of tradition and technology
