The fact that Michael Moore even found a bank that would even allow a gun into the building was astonishing, but a bank that actually gave away free guns if you opened an account? That’s absolutely insane. This shows how clueless people can be in the Unites States. Yes, you are allowed to be proud of your rights, and you are allowed to exercise them, just do them in appropriate ways. Just because you can bear arms, doesn’t mean you have to. Scene 9:A Wonderful World
This segment of the documentary seemed to show how brutal America actually has been in the past century. It shows that the U.S. seems to be a bit hypocritical. Many of the pictures shown were of the U.S. invading other countries or removing democratic leaders of other countries just to get what they want at the time, and meanwhile installing dictatorships and murdering thousands of people. They also fund terrorist organizations to help them overthrow governments and assist with fighting other countries, when all of the decisions come back to haunt them. It seems as though they were fighting democracy, when we are in a war in Iraq, attempting to install freedom and democracy and most of President Bush’s terms were spent preaching about installing democracy.
The two key images that stand out in my mind were the scenes of Osama bin Laden: “1980’s: U.S. trains Osama bin Laden and fellow terrorists to kill soviets. CIA gives them $3 billion.” This is shocking to me, due to the fact that former President Bush spent most of his term hunting down this man, who was formerly hired to help us fight a country which is now more democratic.
