Megan Mather English 101- Section 47 December 11, 2008 Word Count: 602 Halloween Smack Down Halloween is a well-known holiday where children can dress up in cute costumes and go trick-or-treating. It can also be a time for parents to take the time to make their child’s costumes and go trick-or-treating with them. My most memorable Halloween was a much unexpected turn of events that I would never like to repeat. My most memorable Halloween happened during my sophomore year of high school. It was a typical, cold and rainy Halloween. To top it off my friend, Becky and I did not have any costumes to wear and had nowhere to go for the night. Since we did not have plans, we were sitting at my house on a Saturday night, watching television, waiting for my younger cousins to arrive. They always went trick-or-treating in my neighborhood and they were all dressed up, looking adorable in cheerleader outfits. My cousin, Jamiee asked Becky and I if we wanted to go trick-or-treating, but neither of us wanted to go. We planned to hand out candy at my house for all of the trick-or-treaters who came by my house. My mom always got a variety of different candy, so the kids always enjoyed coming to our house for the treats. My cousins really wanted us to come along, so we finally decide we would tag along to make them happy. Although, we did not have any costumes to wear, Becky and I went into my room and put together whatever we could find out of the clothes I had in my closet. After rummaging through my closet, we both ended up dressing up like gangster basketball players. After getting dressed, we stood at the top of my stairs watching my younger cousins take pictures in their costumes. We wanted to make an amusing entrance, so out of nowhere Becky decided to go face-first down the stairs. She ended up hitting her head on the wall and got rug burns all over her arms and legs.
