Building Anethical Organization

The organization that I am director of is an institution to help kids cope with parents or guardians that have alcohol problems. Many children grow up in very fundamental households. Some only sleep for a couple hours a night and some get physically and/or mentally abused. Most of the children tend to end up living in a household where either one or both parents have a drinking problem. When guardians of children drink beyond their limit, the one’s who see the horrible consequences are usually the children. Because children are still dependents, and most likely do not have their own means of income or transportation, they tend to rely on their guardians. With this program, counselors come out to meet the kids to talk, in an area where they can be alone, but still in walking distance. This way, the child can make their own decisions on whether or not they need to seek counseling or not.
In order for this organization to succeed, this would need to be a profitable institute. Counselors are going to need to take time out to meet children’s needs to come out and speak with them. Also, counselors would need to set up their own transportation in order to have this job. Therefore the profits would also need to reimburse for gas and mileage on the employees. It might be difficult for some children to find a way of meeting with a counselor, as they will not be able to pick up children. On the other hand, many children still have grandparents that are able to drive. Also, many children do not receive the end of the abuse from alcoholic guardians until around the ages of 14 or 15. Between these ages is when a child really understands they need help for themselves. Being of this age, many kids might have their license or have a friend who might have a car to drive to meetings.
