One of the most talked about topics in today’s society is bullying. In the world today there are many different ways people are being bullied. Calling someone names has absolutely no beneficial purpose. Moreover, hitting someone makes a bully feel good in the moment while doing permanent damage to the person being victimized. With the internet, people now have even more opportunities to bully through cyber bullying. This includes a widespread of things from posting crude pictures of someone, posting fake web pages, or posting harsh messages. The internet has led to a rise in bullying which has caused major conflicts in today’s world.
Most people know and understand that bullying is wrong yet almost everyone in the world has been a part of bullying in one way or another. Everyone seems to deal with bullying a different way. Some people let it go and don’t let it affect them in a negative way. Some take it to heart and allow it to affect them substantially. Either way it doesn’t make it okay for someone to look down upon anyone else no matter what the circumstances may be.
Bullying has different effects on everyone. One effect may be that it can change a victim’s personality. It can cause people who are normally confident and happy to become self-conscious, shy, and unsure of themselves. Also, a lot of times victims become sad and depressed. Confidence that they might have had at one time has now been completely destroyed all because of something someone said or did to them. Bullying changes many people and most of the time it’s not in a good way.
Despite all the negative effects of bullying, there are even far more serious consequences. People who are bullied sometimes become so upset and emotionally depressed that they see no worth in themselves and no way out of all their pain.
