Bungee Jumping: A Memorable and Exciting Life Experience.

There are moments in your life when ask yourself, “Am I willing to go through with this?” Even though you realize that not only might this be an extremely risky and dangerous thing to do but it is also not a smart decision. The thrill of danger seems to takeover, adrenaline starts pumping and the distinct fascination of overcoming an unnerving act with others winds up being the decision maker.In honor of the "guy code", I decided to go bungee jumping with my friend who, to be bluntly honest, isn't the best guy on the planet. In my opinion, bungee jumping, is the definition of fear itself. It is a leap of faith that requires that you put your absolute trust in people you never had a cup of tea with and also placing your life in the hands of a few elastic strands bound together that make up a bungee cord. Some see it as an extreme sport, but for me, it was a simple way of spending time with friends. Although, this was not a your regular cup of coffee at Starbucks with close buddies. I stared death in the face on the 16th of September 2010 and it clearly stands out as the most exciting experience of my entire life. Period.

It all began as a joke blurted out by a drowsy friend of mine on his special day. He suggested we all go for a 200 foot "Swan Dive" - An inside joke in reference to a humorous Old Spice commercial we recently saw. Ironically, the method of jumping was actually called the Swan Dive. If I vehemently said “No”, I wouldn’t hear the end of it. I could not risk bearing the stigma of being labeled as a scaredy-cat until I was six feet under. That possibility simply did not sit well with me. I was not overly shocked when by the dead silence in the car the next morning. Each of us was hard at work playing out the dreadful scenarios in our heads.
