Similarly the wine Industry is growing at an annual rate of 25% p.a.even during the present slow down in the Indian economy.

The per capita consumption of wine in India is only 9 ml, compared with 400 ml in China. By 2011, Asia will account for 4.8 per cent of the world’s wine consumption.

The high value wine business is growing at a healthy pace.In addition, no wineries have failed during this time, although the list of casualties in other industries is quite long in present situation.

The major growth in the past few years has been in wines costing Rs. 350 and above.
