The business proposed in this document is called the Health Spa which will be located in Canterbury, Kent due to the demand existent in the area and the economic environment in the South East currently. This spa will include a variety of services, products and experiences, which will be discussed under the Business Description and the tagline, will be “Your body’s escape from the rigors of old life.” The spa industry has continued to thrive and grow despite the economic downturn, since people always look for ways to feel good and improve their appearance even when times are a little tougher. But the target age for this business is not for the common audience but for the over 50’s individuals who are in very much need of a place to relax and recover but at the same time do not have the same buying power as the younger working class.
Business Description
The type of business proposed, a spa business, will provide a variety of products and services especially designed for the needs of elder people or those who have health issues. The mission or purpose of the business is to help older people find relaxation, healing and enjoyment in services and products designed to make them feel better and improve their quality of life. The form of ownership will be a sole proprietorship, with me acting as the president of the company. In addition, I will have a variety of staff working in the spa, including hair stylists, nail technicians, aestheticians, medicinal and relaxation massage therapists, acupuncturists and holistic medicine experts which will generate plenty of job opportunities. The general market area will be the city where the spa is located, which will initially be Canterbury, Kent, as well as the surrounding areas and suburbs.
