The overall aim of this unit is to develop student’s knowledge about different theories and practices in human resource management including recruitment, performance management and employee development. It also aims to develop student’s skills needed for working in teams and leading others through understanding different theories of team and leadership and their applications to practices in organizations.
2. Unit abstract
The success of an organization depends heavily on its human resources and recruiting the right person on the job is a key factor. Organizations with effective recruitment and selection processes and practices in place are more likely to make successful staffing appointments. In competitive labor markets this is a major advantage that well-organized businesses will have over their competitors. It is important, therefore, for learners to appreciate that the processes and procedures involved in recruitment and selection to meet the organization’s human resource needs are legal. This unit aims to develop learner knowledge and understanding of the impact of the regulatory framework on the recruitment process.
