Canadian Ecomony

Canada is a country built on immigration, as it is the foundation of many of the urban communities, both in the social and economic aspects that we see today. Since its inauguration in 1867, Canada is a country that has been shaped by skilled immigrants from all over the world. Without them, Canada would not be where it is today. Immigration is a key to the success of the Canadian economy, as many of our current practices have been ideas originating from Europe, and Asia, and the rest of the world. Without having immigrants in the Canadian workforce, the Canadian government and businesses would not be where they are today. Immigrants, specifically those that have skills essential to the workforce make a major impact on the Canadian economy, so much so that the economy depends on the unusually high rate of immigration to thrive and succeed. If you were to ask any given Canadian, their family had immigrated to Canada, whether they are immigrants themselves, or fifth generation Canadian. Without immigration, the Canadian economy would not be where it is today. Historically, Canada recruited immigrant from places such as Asia, to help built the Canada pacific railway, and from Europe, to help settle Canada, whether it be from France, or England. Recruiting immigrants is still active today, to help recruit immigrants to Alberta to help the oil sands, to the Maritimes for fishing, and to other rural communities to bring their much needed skills to assist and grow the communities.
I chose to write about this topic, as it is something that related directly to me. My father and his parents are immigrants themselves. My grandparents came to Canada in 1978, when my father was 14 years old. My grandfather is a medical doctor from England, and my grandmother is a social worker from there as well.
