Identification Of Carbon Monoxide"

Carbon monoxide, with the chemical formula CO, is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas. It is the product of the partial combustion of carbon-containing compounds. It consists of one carbon atom covalently bonded to one oxygen atom. There are 2 covalent bond and a dative covalent bond between the oxygen and carbon atom which comes from the oxygen [1].

It results from incomplete oxidation of carbon in combustion.  Burns with a violet flame.  Slightly soluble in water; soluble in alcohol and benzene.[2][3]
