The lodging and food and beverages offered various management careers. In lodging industry, management careers that are offered are General Manager, Housekeeping Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, Front Office Manager, Restaurant Manager, Catering Manager, and Human Resources Manager. The General Manager should be self-motivated and he/she hires, trains, and motivates the staff. The housekeeping and laundry areas of the hotel are managed by the Housekeeping Manager. Service standards and product quality must not be compromised. The Food and Beverage Manager must be knowledgeable about food, spirits, and wine. He/she is to excel in communication with the customers, as well as the staff. The Front Office Manager coordinates the schedules of the Concierge, Front Desk, Guest Services, Valet, and Room Service. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for all of the food and beverage areas (restaurant, lounge, mini bar, and room service) in a hotel. This includes staffing, shift scheduling, and training. The Catering Manager manages all aspects necessary to complete all catered functions (from planning to proper execution of the catered event). The Human Resources Manager maintains and executes proper procedures in handling employment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and employee training.
