Case Analysis Study
Carl Robins, a recruiter at ABC Inc. has hired 15 new trainees. Although that is a great number of recruits for Carl's first recruitment, he has managed to get himself in a situation that is difficult for him to get out of. Carl had given Monica Carrolls, the operations supervisor, his word on May 15, when he spoke to her; he would have all of the orientation packets, drug tests, booklets, training schedule, etc. ready for her by June 15 to start orientation with the new recruits. Although Carl was hoping for the employees to start by July, that doesn't seem to be the case any longer. Carl has not yet finished the tasks that he said he would finish by the intended due date, therefore; creating a problem for not only himself, but others that are involved as well.

Important as it is as a recruiter to gain many recruits, it is necessary that an individual is capable of preparing certain tasks to get the trainees ready to start orientation. In order to do that, it is necessary that the recruiter be prepared using proper skills such as: time management, communication, set goals, and be organized. Although Carl had good intentions of starting his new recruits in July, he has not communicated with Monica to let her know that he will not be able to meet the deadline he promised her. Carl has also not managed his time in a sufficient way by preparing himself for this project. Knowing that he signed up his recruits for orientation in the computer lab, Carl should have double checked to make sure that nobody else had signed up for time as he did. It is important to keep organized and to set some goals, that way there is no confusion between anybody and things will get done in a timely fashion.
