She was the ruler for each of her sons. Catherine attended convent schools in Rome and Florence Italy and studied to be a nun. Catherine preformed a lot of work during her reign as the queen of France. She created a policy of peace between the Roman Catholics and the protestants. Catherine appointed Antoine De Bourbon lieutenant general. Last, she built the Valois Chapel at Saint-Denis, the Tuileries Palace, and the Hotel De La Reine in Paris. Although Catherine had her great moments, she also had bad ones too. Catherine was blamed for the Saint Bartholomews Day Massacre that happened in paris in 1572. Catherine got blamed for this because the people thought that she was the head of France therefore she was responsible for what happens in France. Many civil wars occurred so Catherine tried to win the favors of both faction, form the Colloquy of Poissy, which was supposed to make the two factions agree and pass the Edict of January but none of those seemed to work.
