Charles Manson, born ‘No Name Maddox’, then later named Charles Millies Manson after his mother married. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 12, 1934 and was the illegitimate son of a sixteen year old girl named Kathleen Maddox. Manson’s father, whom he ever met, was a “Colonel Scott” from Ashland, Kentucky. Manson’s mother Kathleen was a heavy drinker and in 1939, when Charles was only 5, she was sentenced to prison for armed robbery. This began a downward spiral for Charles and in 1942 Charles had his first run in with the law after burning other kid’s toys due to them making fun of him for his mother’s imprisonment.
