The leaders in the contemporary societies have a variety of problems that inhibit their execution of duties making them unable to perform their work well . This leaders lack most of the qualitative skills needed to foster the right correctional procedures and make the corrections institutions one of the best managed in the United States . To accept the ever increasing debate in the United States over the criminal justice system , we need to have a look at the broader perspective of the relationship between the state and the citizen and the functions of imprisonment in the United States of America . Though in this country the United States , crime and corrections are the worst managed , the corrections are never known to rehabilitate but rather offer punishment to those prosecuted within the United States . This has led to failure of the management to achieve its main objectives in the administration of the criminal justice in the United States
The methodologies of arrest and required prosecution techniques need to be skills both the management and the administrative arm have acquired among others skills . Therefore it is very urgent for some of the skills to be instilled into the management to help them in administering proper and effective leadership to the inmates . The leaders are unable to realize and address to the fundamental social and economical and causes of criminality . This is one area that needs reform to help in revolutionizing the whole correction institution within the United States . It should not be the disciplining arm of the state but rather it should be the correction arm of the state
