The purpose of this paper is to talk about organizational change models and how it impacts organizations and leadership
It is very important for risk taking to take place in an organization. A good leader has to be willing to take risk themselves which means they are doing whatever it takes to obtain the goal that has been set forth. As a visionary leader it is a must that the whole group takes that risk as well. There are steps in making sure everyone can handle the changes and using the Levin’s Change Management Model. This model was designed with the intentions of how people operate in zones or sections and they transition. The first step in this model is Unfreeze this is where people will resist change at the initial presentation of the changes. It is up to leadership to help them melt a little bit by motivation them by modeling the behavior or giving incentives to accept the changes. This indicates that the leader has built trust, and everyone else is willing and ready to go for the ride as well As a leader it is necessary to explain the vision clearly to the organization. This allows the organization to have a better understanding of where they are going and why they are doing things a certain way in the organization. If people have the clarity of the vision, then they will be more apt to follow and, have the same passion as the leader because they can see clearly beyond the peaks and valleys Transition is the next step after the individuals are motivated. This could last for a long time. At this point much encouragement is needed in order to move through and out of this transition period. There should be employee engagement in management activities and decisions.
