According to Xue Litai, China and America’s relationship is already built to work to decrease terrorism towards nuclear power stations. Litai says that Hu Jintao’s, the Chinese President, participation in the Washington nuclear security meeting gave the world a perspective that even China is willing to work against the threats.
China must protect itself against the existing threats just as much as other countries do. They need to be on good terms with other countries, like the US, in similar situations, because they are expanding and depending on their nuclear power plants. The president’s speech in Washington was very important from a global perspective because it showed how the US and China are trying to be on good terms with each other. It also shows that other countries are trying to cooperate with each other and trying to be friendly and let their guard down.
Litai made the point that China’s growth in this international market will make them the second biggest exporter in the near future; so the US needs to have a good relationship with them. The US already depends on China’s economic development, which leads to the importation to goods from the US.
This is also a why the countries have to maintain a good relationship with each other, according to Litai. The threat to nuclear plants is steadily increasing, therefore these two countries, the US and China, are two major powers supporting and helping each other in the case against combating terrorism.
On the other hand, is Jiang Wenran arguing that relations between USA and China, regarding nuclear power stations, have not been considered in the last couple of months due to the export of weapons from USA to Taiwan?
