Chinese People

The first Chinese immigrants arrived in the United States in 1820. Most of the Chinese immigrated to the United States in the 19th century. We worked as laborers and suffered from racial discrimination. There was even a Chinese expulsion act that prohibited immigration from china for the next ten years. Those who were already in the United States were ineligible for citizenship. Then in 1940 the United States and China became allies during World War 2. The situation for Chinese Americans did begin to improve.
In 1860 the Chinese American children were not aloud to attend public schools. The Chinese people were discriminated against because they were mainly used as laborers to the United States. The Chinese people were employed as laborers, railroad construction, and lumber industry.
After World War 2 the Chinese Americans were transgression the white’s space. The men were deemed competent technical workers and were great at technology, mathematics, science. The woman was reliable clerical workers. They were treated equal with Americans and were barely ever discriminated against. The Chinese population in the United States increased. President Johnson declared that he would not hesitate to make it so that every race and color will have the same rights. The Chinese people would no longer be placed in the same place they could do what all the white people was doing.
The first Chinese Americans were at time discriminated against. They were banned from schools but it never stopped them from trying to make it the United States. In the United States every different race and color was judged from there skin. I do not believe that people should be judged by there skin color or any other differences. I think that if a white person has the right to work anywhere then so does any other race. I know that it is the way things were back then but I still think that it was wrong to ever be that way.
