Christ vs Mohammed

Two of the biggest religions in the world are Christianity and Muslim. These two religions and their branches are founded on the backs of two different men. While very different from each other, they have a few commonalities. Both of these men affected not just the world of religion, but how societies run all over the globe.
Jesus Christ is known by many names. Some of them include: Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, Immanuel, the Son of God, and the Prince of Peace. He was a Jewish man that, according to Christian scripture, was born of a virgin, named Mary, around 7-2 B.C.E in Bethlehem. His birth is what is celebrated at Christmas and is what gave people the Nativity Story. He was crucified around 26-36 A.D. at Calvary, on a mountain known as Golgotha. According to the New Testament, he rose again on the third day after his death. His coming and resurrection was prophesied by many whom the Jews considered Prophets: Isaiah, Elijah, Moses, etc. He is the man at the center of Christianity, the man that millions have worshipped, do worship, and will worship. He has had an influence on many other religions, as well, such as Judaism and Muslim.
Jesus Christ made a ripple effect all over the world, and it wasn’t just with religion. He changed Moses’ Law, the law that governed how every Jew lived his or her life every minute of every day. Their original law could be traced back to King Hammurabi’s code in about 1750 B.C.E. Hammurabi said that he got his laws from the gods, but it was basically just based off of the natural laws. These laws were just common sense. He simply, formally established that one shouldn’t kill or steal from another. If one committed a crime, he was punished severely. This, in a way, evoked a fear in the people not to commit the crime at all. Later, Moses came along and was supposedly given the “Ten Commandments” from God. They are almost identical to the laws that Hammurabi established, showing even more that they are natural...
