A Comfortable Christianity

Hey…what I’m going to say tonight guys isn’t going to be easy for me to say. Its challenged me big time and I hope it challenges you. Ill warn you now that it probably won’t be easy listening and it might make you feel uncomfortable, but why shouldn’t it, after all Christ went to the cross for us, surely that wasn’t comfortable? But I pray that you hear from God, cause I believe God is here tonight and is here to wake us up…

Who here was at come sort of bible camp over summer? Or has been to a bible camp at some stage in their life or helped out at one?
Who had a good time? Good bant etc
Who was challenged by what was spoken?
Who came back from that week and was on fire for God?
Whose fire is still ablaze?

I’m sure you can see yourself their guys that at some point in our lives we have been on fire for God. We are not called to be on fire for God at any given point in life, but at every point in our life

I’ve been there year after year after year I have come back from a camp saying “Yes that’s me sorted, im going to give it stacks for life” a few weeks or sometimes months go by and all is well…then the drought kicks in. I stop reading, but I still pray and go to church and listen. Then I stop praying but still go to church. Then I start to just turn up to church.

Where are you at the minute?

Many things hold us back whether it be relationships, drinking, clubbing, drugs, friends etc etc etc but why do we let things hold us back…it frustrates me big time, that I let simple things stop me from walking with God.

This famous quote that all of you will know explains it perfectly…
