Stereotyping is something I’ve had to grow up with and have had to deal with people from the past the present and most likely till the future. People are so quick to stereotype a person; definition of stereotyping is a conventional or standardized conception of image. Which in this case I dress in a term people would consider black. Dressing black causes a lot of stereotyping because literally others consider a person or persons who dress black is either related to a gang, gets into trouble, are does drugs. When in reality that isn’t true for some people including myself, I’m not in a gang I stay out of trouble, and I don’t do drugs. Racial profiling is something I’ve always had to deal with because I’m light skinned and true fully to get accepted by a white man or white woman you have to be a hundred percent white in my eyes just because of the racial profiling we have today in our society. Today it’s hard for a black man to live its harder to get a job and harder to be accepted in a white community. Simply because white people, they don’t want a black person to succeed in life. Some whites not all whites would rather see us in jail locked up or dead. In the movie American Gangster there was a black man who had power and wealth why because he sold drugs. White police officers knew that but figured why take down one black man when they could just be patient and try to get all the black men off the streets just by letting the power and wealthy black man get them caught up. This adventure that I have taking my whole life as a black man is hard I could remember applying for a job at rite aid. I was dress appropriate, application was filled out perfect everything was just right. While a white teenage kid the same day turned in his application wearing a hat with a tee shirt and some shorts turned in his application also.
